Fortin
de Cos
The Texians
placed an artillery battery of three guns on a platform at the back of
the Valero church. The Mexican army built the ramp and platform during
their prior occupation from the rubble and pulled down arches of the church.
They called it Fortin de Cos (Cos's little fort). Captain
Almeron Dickinson and Gregorio Esparza took their positions
there.
