Salt Water Agriculture in the Desert

A Duel Solution to Poverty and Global Warming

Fuel and fodder in the desert
Trees growing in the desert away from the sea, irrigated with waste water from a shrimp farm.  In the foreground is the grass Distichlis Spicata which grows with sea water irrigation and is excellant fodder.  The deserts of the world could be planted in this way to fix carbon dioxide produced from fossil fuels.  In the Mediterranean and Aegean seas, where tidal variation is too small to provide air to the roots, trees could be planted above sea level in a cost effective way if windmill pumps could be developed.
