Soldier's Pistol
Spanish mounted soldier's migulet lock pistol of about 1780. By regulation, each presidial soldier carried two of these pistols. This one has a 12 inch barrel, is .70 caliber, and has brass fittings, including a plaque bearing the arms of Spain mounted on the back of the grip.

Officer's Pistol
Well made engraved pistols such as this one were carried by some of the presidio officers. Made by Matias Baeza of Madrid in 1703, this Madrid lock horseman's pistol is caliber .62, smooth bore, with a 12 inch barrel and engraved silver trim. It was found in Durango, Mexico.
