To any Sheriff, or Constable of the State of Mississippi & to the Marshall of the Mississippi District Whereas complaint has been made to me John Taylor one of the Judges of the Superior and Supreme Courts of the State aforesaid on the oath of Bela Metcalfe Attorney of the United States for the District aforesaid; that James Long, William Watson Walker and others have begun, & set on foot; or have provided & prepared the means for a military expedition or enterprise to be carried on from the District aforesaid against the dominions of Ferdinand the seventh King of Spain: to wit against the province of Texas and the Vice Royalty of Mexico; the said United States of America then and still being at peace with the said King of Spain [I here act?], therefore, in the name and by the authority of the said State of Mississippi, and on behalf of the said United States of America, to command [you and each?] of you forthwith to apprehend the said James Long and William Watson Walker, if to be found, and bring them before me or some other Judge or Justice of the State aforesaid or before the Judge of the United States for the District aforesaid, to answer the [premises?] and to be dealt with as the law directs. Given under my hand and seal at Natches in the State aforesaid this nineteenth day of January 1820 J Taylor L.S. By virtue of the within warrant I have the Defendant W.W.
